Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy (further - Policy) explains what personal data we receive or collect from you and how we use it in the Radius Messenger app (further - Radius, Application, App, we, us, our or other similar pronouns), on the radius.im website (further - Site) and in connection with other services (further - Services) we provide. We encourage you to read the following information to learn more about our Policy.

1. Collection and Use of Information

Radius collects data to operate effectively and provide you with the best experiences with our App. You provide some of this data directly, for example, when you create your account. We get some information from your interaction with our Services such as cookies, location determination in order to customize certain services, error reports or usage data from software running on your device.

1.1 User information

When you install Radius Messenger you have to provide your phone number, name and load a profile picture (not obligatory). After registration we can access your devices’ phone book. A copy of the data from your phone book will be stored on our servers. The phone numbers will only be used to notify you when your contacts install Radius or about their activity, to display the names of your contacts (as they are saved in your phone book) and for synchronizing your contacts on all your devices with Radius installed.

1.2 Usage information

We receive information about your activity through our Services. For example, we may collect information about your interaction with Services, your communication with other Radius users (such as time, date, sender, recipient of a message, number of messages you exchange with your friends or in chennels and your interactions with messages – opening, file attaching, deletion).

1.3 Device information

We receive device-specific information, such as hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, browser type, language, wireless network and mobile network information. We collect this information to diagnose and solve the problems in case you experience any crash or other problem while using our Services.

1.4 Location information

When you use our Services we may receive information about your location. With your consent, we may also collect information about your precise location using methods that include GPS, wireless networks, cell towers, Wi-Fi access points etc.

1.5 Cookies and other automatically collected data

If you have permitted your device to accept cookies, we may use them on our Site. Cookies make your interaction with Services easier by saving preferences and browsing patterns. We may use cookies to analyze usage of our services for their further improvement and for other customer service purposes. Most browsers are set to receive cookies by default, but you have the opportunity to reject those files if your browser or device has such an option. Keep in mind that refusing cookies may affect the functionality and availability of our Services.

If you want, you can refuse to give us information. You can reject the request for your personal data. However if you do not provide some information, which is necessary for a certain service, you will not be able to use some functions and Services or even the App in general.

2. Analytics Collection

Radius can use Google Analytics and other similar services to anonymously track the information about the Site visitors’ and App users’ behavior. This information gives the ability to analyze and evaluate the use of our Services to improve their quality. Our analysis does not include any personal identifying data and all the collected information is used only for our analytical tasks.

3. Disclosure of Information

We do not share, transmit or sell the information about our users to the third parties, except for some cases. We may disclose your personal information to comply with the law or a legal process. We can disclose your personal information to protect our rights and property, in case of violation of our agreements and in emergencies to ensure our users’ personal safety, national safety or other socially important matters.

If necessary, Radius may share some part of your personal information with reliable providers of services to the extent that is necessary to perform our Services. We may use third party services in the following cases:

  • to send you a verification password when you register with our App. In order to send you the SMS, we send our partner company your phone number and the verification password. These third parties are obligated to use your phone number only for performing the services on our behalf that is sending you an SMS with password.
  • to use push notifications to inform you about events related to the App. The necessary data is sent to the service provider to deliver the push notification to your device.
  • to store your files in the cloud storage. Our partner-provider is responsible for saving data and keeping it available, and for the physical environment protected and running.
  • to process payments and to facilitate payment transactions. We require these third parties to observe the relevant legislation and to take all possible measures to protect your personal data, but we are not responsible for any transactions. As you choose the payment method by yourself, you should review the Terms and Conditions of the payment system before providing your payment information.

We always require the third parties to comply with the law, to take all possible measures to protect the shared data and to establish all appropriate organizational and technical measures for that. In case we have some additional partners, we will update this part of our Policy.

Radius may from time to time ask you to provide information about your user experiences. All the information that you provide in the feedback forms will be used exceptionally for the purpose of evaluating the quality of our products and improving them. You can refuse to submit any of such data.

We reserve the right to send you messages about faults and other service issues and also send you alerts about claims related to your use of our Services and products, including claims of violations of third party rights. We can inform you about news or any other information related to our Services.

4. Change or Removal of Information

You can edit your account information (profile picture, name, public name).

Radius is not responsible for the content of the messages and any information posted in personal conversations or in channels. You must realize that the users who receive your messages or any other content you provide can always save it (for example make a screenshot or copy it). Do not send the messages you do not want to be saved or disclosed.

A few more words on deletion: we cannot guarantee that messages and corresponding metadata will be deleted within a specific timeframe. Keep in mind that we may also retain certain information in backup for an unlimited period. We will have to remove corresponding information if properly notified that it does not comply with law. In addition, of course, as with any digital information, there may be ways to access messages while still in temporary storage on your or recipients’ devices.

5. Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 12. We do not intentionally or knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 12 years of age. We encourage parents to be aware of their children’s internet activities and service use so that no information is collected from a child without parental permission and consent.

6. Special Note to International Users

If you are a user of our Services from the European Union, Asia, America or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection and use, that differ from the regulations in this Policy or in our Terms and Conditions, please note that through your use of Radius, you are knowingly transferring your personal information to us and agree to our Policy and Terms and Conditions.

7. Business Transitions

In the event that Radius is acquired by or merged with another company, we reserve the right to transfer or assign information collected from our users as a part of such merger, acquisition, sale or other change of control. In case of such transition, the new company will be responsible for taking all the measures to provide the protection of your personal information. If such changes take place, we will post a notice on our Site to inform our users.

8. Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may revise our Policy from time to time and modify it if needed. We reserve the right to update the information with or without notification, but you will always be aware of the changes due to the date of the update at the bottom of the document. We assure that we will not use your personal information in a way that is substantially different from the uses described in this Policy without the opportunity for users to opt-out. Our users will always have the opportunity to view the up-to-date Policy on our Site and be aware of all the changes. Your use of our products and Services signifies your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, our Policy and agreement to the changes in them. If you do not agree with these Terms and Policies, you should not use Radius and all the Services we provide.
